Arcus Project, our innovative hub within the Strategic Portfolio for Arcus, fosters exploration, creativity, and playfulness. Our mission? To pioneer new realms of expression, perfection, and taste, free from commercial constraints.
In our debut project, Arcus Project No. 1, we aimed to capture the essence of the north. Exploring three distinct biotopes—the Swedish forest, Norwegian Finnmark, and Danish heath—we meticulously gathered plants and growths. Guided by herbal expert Søren Espersen, we hand-picked unique botanicals from each habitat. Master Distiller Lars Kragelund then skillfully extracted the essence of weather, temperature, and soil through fractional distillation. These fractions, representing each bio topic’s origin, offer connoisseurs nature’s purest spirit.
In response to the challenge, we crafted a distinctive concept paired with exceptional packaging design. Departing from the artisanal trend prevalent in the industry, our design journey leads back to the laboratory, where the master distiller’s expertise shines. The sleek blue outer paper wrap serves as a narrative, guiding consumers through the meticulous process from hand-picked botanicals to sensory selection and distillation. Complemented by a simple, elegant bottle and a vibrant blue label, sealed with wax, our design exudes a clinical laboratory ambiance while deliberately keeping taste expectations discreet.
To further underscore our non-commercial approach, each tree spirit is named after the longitude of its botanical source.
While these projects may not enter commercial sales, certain elements may influence future products, akin to concept cars inspiring established manufacturers. Only a select few have savored this distinctive creation, either in premier Scandinavian restaurants or alongside master distiller Lars Kragelund, presenting his crowning achievement to date.
