Samsung, once a challenger in the Nordic region, now holds a unique position. Less than a decade ago, it embarked on a five-year plan to become the strongest brand in the Nordic countries. This plan emphasized its commitment to Scandinavian design.

As a newcomer to design-minded Scandinavians, Samsung had to demonstrate its ability to seamlessly connect top-quality products with aesthetics. To surpass the powerhouses of Scandinavian consumer technology, Samsung aimed to inspire consumers by emphasizing a symbiotic relationship between style and utility.

Showing passion for the Nordic lifestyle

LOOP Associates partnered with Samsung to create a design expression spanning various product categories, highlighting the brand’s capacity to blend with the Scandinavian lifestyle. By accentuating Samsung’s Danish-inspired product designs, we introduced Nordic consumers to the brand’s sincere Nordic passion. Additionally, we enriched creative concepts and campaigns with inspiring exhibitions and unique partnerships with institutions such as the Danish Design Center, Danish Design Museum, and Red Cross.

Over the past five years, storytelling strategies have solidified the strong connection between Samsung, Scandinavia, and Scandinavian design. These strategies have fostered pride among Nordic consumers. Today, consumers appreciate Samsung’s consistent efforts to combine quality with Scandinavian design. This has led to its success in breaking the conventional dominance of competitors and surpassing Apple’s market share in the Nordic regions in 2012.
